Discover the essential insurance policies that will provide comprehensive protection for your allied health practice, practitioners and subcontractors. Find out which policies are crucial for safeguarding both your business and personal interests.

Protect Your Reputation with Professional Indemnity Insurance

Ensure you're covered against claims of negligence or errors in your services that could harm patients. With professional indemnity insurance, you'll have legal expenses and settlements covered, so you can focus on providing exceptional care.

Safety First with General Liability Insurance

Don't leave your practice exposed to accidents or incidents unrelated to your professional services. A general liability insurance policy shields you from third-party claims of bodily injury, property damage, or advertising injury arising from your premises or business.

Shield Your Data with Cyber Liability Insurance

As an allied health professional, your handling of patient records and sensitive information is crucial. Cyber insurance will safeguard against data breaches, cyberattacks, and other cyber incidents that could compromise patient data with this essential policy.

Comprehensive Coverage with Business Package Insurance

Bundle your liability insurance with property insurance to create a comprehensive insurance package for your business. Customise the cover to include protection against property losses, theft, business interruption, and more.

Protect Your Future with Management Liability Insurance

If you're a practice owner or manager, this policy is a must-have. Safeguard your personal assets and the financial stability of your business against legal claims or lawsuits stemming from managerial decisions or actions.

Real-Life Examples of Allied Health Insurance Claims in Action

1. Day Spa Disaster - Insurance Product: Public Liability Insurance

Occupation: Massage Therapy

Claim: There was a fire at the Insured’s day spa premises which caused extensive property damage. The landlord claimed for costs relating to property damage. The cause of fire was the spontaneous combustion of towels that had been stacked into shelving shortly after removal from a dryer. The towels were packed whilst hot and the presence of residue oils in the fabric of the towels contributed to the spontaneous combustion.

Outcome: Insurer paid $65,000 to cover the costs.

2. Group Home Crisis - Insurance Product: Combined Professional Indemnity & Public Liability

Occupation: Aged & Disability Care

Claim: The Insured was an allied health organisation that provided group home care to residents. A resident had an episode and locked her carer outside the premises, then started a fire in the bedroom with a cigarette lighter. The property insurer covered the loss and sought rectification costs in the amount of $470,000 against the Allied Health insurer, alleging negligence on the part of the Insured. The claim asserted that the Insured had failed to discharge its duty of care in ensuring that incendiary items were not visible to the resident. Additionally, it cited a breach of the Residential Tenancy Agreement that the Insured had with the owners of the property as a contributing factor to the claim.

Outcome: Rectification costs of $470,000 were covered by the Insurer.
