Intuit Quickbooks has announced that TradeGecko (also known as QuickBooks Commerce) will be retired on June 10, 2022. If your company uses the inventory management platform, you need to start thinking of moving to an alternative system now.
Here’s what you need to know.
The details
- TradeGecko will be formally switched off on June 10, 2022
- As of June 2021, TradeGecko is no longer accepting new customers
- While users in the US will have the option to switch to a new version of the product, users outside the US will be cut off from the TradeGecko service entirely
- Users will have until June 10, 2022 to export their data and migrate their system to a new platform
- Customers will be refunded for any unused time after TradeGecko shuts down
- There will be no compensation for costs incurred from the forced shift to a new system
Will you need to move to a new system?
While US-based customers have the option of migrating to the new QuickBooks Online + QuickBooks Commerce bundle, users outside the US have not been given the same choice.
Unfortunately, this means you’ll need to find a software alternative. Users will have until June 10, 2022 to export their data and migrate their system to their new software platform.
Why you need to start now
While you still have 5 months to make the move, that’s very little time when you consider all the complexities of moving to a new system. You’ll need to trial and decide on a new product that meets the unique requirements of your business, integrate to any key peripheral systems, adapt your processes, transfer your data, and train your staff in how to use it. There’s a lot to do.
