Australian Phased Mandatory Climate-related Reporting
Starting January 1, 2025, businesses will need to include carbon accounting in their reports. International companies with European operations must act swiftly under the EU’s corporate sustainability laws. Suppliers, get ready to provide your emissions data!
This mandatory reporting for Australian companies is broken down into three cohorts, each with specific requirements based on the size of the business, which is determined by meeting at least two of the following criteria:
- Number of employees (with thresholds at over 100, 250, and 500 employees)
- Consolidated gross assets (with thresholds at $25 million, $500 million, and $1 billion)
- Consolidated annual revenue (with thresholds at $50 million, $200 million, and $500 million)
